Effortless? That has to be the hyperbole of this century.
A better question would be, "for the last two centuries, the US and Europe have managed to eek out an unprecedented period of prosperity and relative peace; have the barbarians become too powerful to hold them off any longer?"

ReplyDeleteI don't think we're there yet, maybe 25-50 years from now. But, the end of conservative rule in the U.S. is less than a month away!
