In tonight's episode, a crack commando team of African brothers invades the White House and takes the President hostage. I'm trippin. Anybody else?

  1. I watched and yes, I was trippin' out completely. Those brothers from Singala were handling their business.

  2. It was weird. On the one hand, I was like, African brothers coming up in the world, we are now primetime super sophisticated and ruthless terrorists. I mean Debaku was no joke. That cat was crazy, and then his boss' plans get thwarted and he takes the fight to the president direct!

On the other hand, I was like, okay, ya'll asking me to suspend too much disbelief. A little African country's tin pot despotic leaders have bought off key American officials up and down the food chain, so much so, that they gave up the President and the White House to be hit in an suicide mission terror attack and these brothers actually got in AND have secret intel to break WH security protocols? Seem like a stretch.

Conceptually, it was messing with me.

  3. I like the storyline though. It's a much different story than you would expect. A fictional African country with high tech special forces, the influence and money to buy off weak politicians and the guts to take the White House. Conceptually, it is not what you would expect at all. That's what makes it work though. It's not your typical African dictator story.

I started off watching this season of '24' ready to be critical about the storyline this season but so far I really don't have any complaints. I'm going to be watching this one to the end.
