I am a conservative democrat, but I am ...Hi agree! I am a conservative democrat, but I am exploring Black Conservatism and Republicanism with hope that I can find true change for our community. I ran across the youtube video, and although it was funny and made some interesting, sometimes true points... it kind of scared me away a little. <BR/><BR/>I do not want to be like the black liberals OR black conservatives that express self righteous attitudes and the 'us' versus 'them' mentality, The truth is that we need black voices in ALL parties; that is the only way our issues in our community will be fixed. Having either party monopolize black votes I think will cause problems in the long run: one party takes us for granted, while the other paty doesn't thnk we exist and so ignores many of our concerns in the wider, national context:<BR/>this should not be the case. <BR/><BR/>If we are 'Christians' as he claims, then our primary goal should not be getting people to follow a particular party, but to follow Christ...being a Republican(or Democrat) will not get you into heaven, only Jesus can.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
