makes a great point in downplaying hails of him as a hero that there
are guys who do this every day, who signed up to do it, and that he was
only doing what any neighbor would have done. Ignore
the mislabel, the video link is to the Booker story. Booker recounts
for CNN the events of Thursday night and you get a sense of just how bad
that scene was. They could have died.
think the hero label is warranted. While there are people who signed
up to do this every day, Booker wasn't one of them. He's not been
trained to face down flames and smoke. He didn't know what to do in
there. He just knew there was somebody in there who needed help and
that was all he really needed to know to take action. If I lived in
Newark, he'd get my re-election vote.
