Lessons Unlearned

A few things the GOP better start catching a clue about:

  •  You can no longer win with election strategies that seek primarily to maximize the white vote.
  • You cannot demonize hispanics on immigration and expect to win their vote.
  • It is stupid to ignore the most consistent and committed group of  Christian voters, blacks, as a political constituency.
  • It is even more stupid to nakedly attempt to suppress the black vote. It sorta pisses them off.
There are other lessons learned for the GOP in this election, but if the above isn't clearly coming through to the party leaders and its rank and file, then the GOP doesn't deserve to have its political ideas gain any currency, because it is a lousy and fickle messenger of conservative values and policy.
